However, the studies done so far reveals that social studies are underestimated in the present world. A number of people are found to show the negative or the indifferent attitude towards the study of social studies like students do not find it difficult nor it is considered as an interesting subject. For many people, Social Studies is a boring subject where the information is boring and tedious i.e. the information present is too detailed, too repetitious and far from the real world experiences.
This is alarming for the modern society as people do not find the subject interesting and valuable. The decreasing level of public interest and diminishing quality of study of the subject is explicitly able to indicate that there is an increasing need for improving the social studies program at the school level.
Today, there is a vital need to deliver the best cases to the student which would make the topic interesting among children. There is a need to integrate the teachings of the social studies program at various grades so that the real-world teaching become more meaningful and based on that children can build their future career fruitfully.
Considering the vital role played by the social studies program and the need for delivering the teachings to students in the most intuitive and interactive manner we have come up with the teachings of real-world scenarios through which students would integrate the studied instances with their lives which would foster their positive growth as a responsible citizen of the society.
Infant Jesus School, Ambernath, play a central role in study curriculum. We take a broader, humanistic approach in teaching children about different people, culture, festivals, celebrations, including the events that shaped the world. In our social studies lecture, we encourage them to foster their critical thinking abilities. We emphasize the participation of our children in various events and activities that would enhance their knowledge and understanding about the world around them.
Our teachings on social studies involves economics as a most important part which teaches a child how to carry themselves throughout their entire life. We help students understand how economics system work within and outside the school. The teaching includes the historical and the social overview that helps them have a basic edge over the corporate world since their initial stages.
By studying the world population from a historical and social perspective, we inculcate an understanding of the world that the children would fit into. This helps students to have an understanding of the world that would allow them to compete in the international marketplace by having a wider understanding of the distinct social norms. No matter a boy or a girl, it is imperative for both to compare and analyze the distinct styles of the community and grow themselves over there.
